Accounting Manager

Olyphant, PA

Leonard Workforce Solutions is recruiting an Accounting Manager for my client, HK Kolmar USA, LLC in Olyphant, PA.

This is a full-time, ON-SITE position. The typical schedule is Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm.

The Role:

The Accounting Manager performs complex accounting functions related to the financial processes, reporting, analysis and interpretation and provides input to management and guidance to other Finance department personnel in regard to these functions. This position reports to the Director of Finance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for the month-end closing processes, maintaining the general ledger through monthly journal entries and scheduled reconciliation of accounts.

  • Prepare financial statements and internal reports and provide summaries and recommendations to management regarding financial activities.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.

  • Supervision of Accounting staff and assist in resolving issues that arise in these areas with minimal supervision.

  • Establish and maintain effective communication and coordination with team members, coworkers, production staff and management.

  • Review and improve daily processes and tasks to expedite and improve workflow.

  • Perform job functions with minimal supervision

  • Provide audit support through the generation of timely, accurate schedules and documents.

  • Create and maintain adequate and appropriate procedural documentation.

  • Be an active and informed participant in financial and ERP system implementations.

  • Support Director of Finance on various management projects as they arise

  • Provide financial analysis and reporting on results and trends of operations.

  • Assist with product cost development and cost savings calculations, creating budgets, forecasts and activity rates.

  • Develop a strong understanding of the Financial and ERP systems and the ability to data mine.

  • Assist in Inventory Audits

  • Manage fixed assets including capitalizations, disposals, monthly depreciation, federal depreciation, and researching appropriate accounting treatment of complex transactions related to fixed assets.

  • Other duties may be assigned

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 5-7 years of full-time accounting experience

  • Ability to work honestly and improve current procedures and practices in the Accounting Department

  • Ability to analyze, identify and solve complex accounting problems

  • US GAAP knowledge required with an ability to distinguish between theories and practical application

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, specifically Excel

  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software, DEACOM ERP a plus

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects

  • Ability to maintain accurate records

  • Ability to communicate verbally and electronically with both internal and external parties
