Accounts Payable Specialist (Part-Time)

Scranton, PA

Leonard Workforce Solutions is recruiting an Accounts Payable Specialist for my client, NET Credit Union in Scranton, PA.

This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling, up to 30 hrs./week.

Starting wage range is $19/hr. - $20/hr. DOE + amazing benefits, including medical/vision/dental insurance, 401(k), PTO and more.

Summary/Purpose
Process the credit union’s accounts payables.  The ideal candidate will be comfortable responding to vendors, supplying tax exempt forms and allocating invoices to respective branches.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare, scan and pay all accounts payable into accounting software.

• Enter data into accounting systems and generate reports on a daily basis.

• Remit daily & weekly IRS withholdings.

• Maintain working knowledge of various accounting software programs.

• Review and distribute vendor invoices to appropriate branches and cost centers for accurate branch accounting.

• Prepare and summarize vendor payments for approval

• Execute check runs and process ACH payments

• Analyze vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or past-due amounts

• Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal departments

• Set up new vendors in the system and request necessary documents and W-9s.

• Assist in preparing vendor 1099’s at year end.

• Reconcile accounts payable general ledger on timely basis.

• Other duties as requested by management

Requirements and Qualifications

• A two year college degree

• Some accounting or accounts payable experience preferred

Work Environment

Job requires little physical effort and is basically a desk assignment. Work creates moderate to heavy stress during certain periods. Job does not have specific volume and pace of work standards except that the job includes specific deadlines. Job requires extensive contact with managers, employees, members, outside companies and vendors on a continual basis. This work requires the following physical activities: sitting, standing, walking, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. The work is performed primarily indoors.
