Leonard Workforce Solutions is recruiting a Controller for my client, The Highlands Archbald in Archbald, PA.
This is a full-time, ON-SITE position with limited remote flexibility. Typical hours are M-F, 7:00am - 3:30pm, but can be somewhat flexible.
The starting salary range is $90,000 - $110,000/yr. DOQ. A generous benefits package is provided.
Position Overview
The Controller is responsible for managing and overseeing all financial, accounting, and reporting activities for a multi-faceted business that includes golf operations, club/restaurant services, real estate development, and property management. This role ensures accurate bookkeeping, financial integrity, and efficient accounting processes while supporting leadership with financial planning and operational oversight.
Essential Accounting & Financial Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate books, ledgers, financial entries, and reconciliations across multiple business entities.
• Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and vendor payments.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy, journal entries, and month-end close procedures.
• Prepare financial statements, budget reports, and cash flow summaries for ownership.
• Track revenue and expenses for golf operations, club restaurant, real estate sales and construction, and grounds/maintenance divisions.
• Oversee bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, and financial planning with leadership.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and coordinate with external accountants.
• Maintain digital and physical financial records in an organized and secure manner.
• Monitor project spending for construction, renovations, and capital improvements.
Business Operations Support
• Support ownership with financial modeling and business strategy analysis.
• Maintain inventory and asset records, including equipment and materials.
• Assist in preparing documentation for lenders, insurance, and licensing.
• Coordinate with department managers to ensure accurate financial tracking.
• Implement improved systems, processes, and financial controls where needed.
Qualifications (Recommended):
• Proven experience as a controller, accounting manager or similar financial role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, accounting software, and Excel.
• Ability to manage finances for multiple business entities simultaneously.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with social media content creation and account management.
• Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or equivalent experience.
