Leonard Workforce Solutions is recruiting a Director of Development for my client, F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

This is a full-time, ON-SITE position. The general work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm, however the Director of Development will be expected to attend occasional meetings and events outside of that schedule.
The starting salary is up to $75,000/yr. DOQ. The F.M. Kirby Center offers a very competitive benefits package to full-time employees. The Director of Development position is eligible for bonus opportunities.
In addition to the below qualifications, ideal candidates will be:
Comfortable picking up the phone to talk with a donor they don’t know and meet with them in person
Comfortable soliciting major gifts
PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
The Director of Development is accountable for the management of the F.M. Kirby Center’s fundraising programs and development staff. Responsibilities include major gift research, cultivation, solicitations and grant development/compliance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the development office
Lead execution of the organization’s comprehensive fundraising plan, ensuring campaign initiatives, donor recognition and cultivation efforts, and timelines are effectively managed to meet departmental goals.
Grant research development and compliance for public and private sources
Oversee Membership to ensure new initiatives and retention
Develop strategies to advance relationships with donors and prospective donors
Budget development and oversight
Prospect identification
Responsible for the Advancement Committee of the Board of Directors
Legislative and government relations including government funding and state tax credit programs
Motivate and lead the Donor Relations Manager to increase effectiveness and achieve goals
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Position requires four-year degree and minimum of five years professional fundraising experience
Proven experience developing planned giving strategies, soliciting and closing major gifts, and data analysis
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Experience in fundraising systems and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
