Key Responsibilities

As Executive Director, you will:

  • Champion the Mission: Serve as the voice and public face of Fork Over Love, advocating for our socially innovative vision across Northeastern Pennsylvania and beyond.

  • Strategic Leadership: Partner with the Board of Directors to shape and execute a long-term strategy that sustains and grows our impact.

  • Financial Stewardship: Oversee the development of annual budgets, long-term financial forecasts, and creative fundraising strategies.

  • Fundraising & Partnerships:

    • Deepen relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors.

    • Identify and secure mission-aligned grants.

    • Lead major fundraising events that grow in impact over time.

  • Marketing & Awareness: Develop creative media campaigns that raise visibility and inspire broad community engagement.

  • Volunteer & Team Development: Build, coach, and inspire a strong volunteer leadership team and empower staff to thrive.

  • Community Engagement: Attend weekly distribution events, nurture grassroots volunteer support, and build trust with stakeholders, partners, and community leaders.

  • Operational Excellence: Ensure legal compliance, effective day-to-day operations, and timely reporting to the Board.

Qualifications

  • Proven success as an Executive Director or senior nonprofit leader.

  • Strong record of strategic planning, financial oversight, and organizational growth.

  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, grant writing, and donor engagement.

  • Excellent communicator and public speaker with outstanding relationship-building skills.

  • Innovative thinker with the ability to solve complex problems creatively and compassionately.

  • Knowledge of nonprofit governance and best practices.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (or 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in lieu of a master’s).

  • Proficiency with technology and digital tools.

  • And most importantly — a kind, flexible, and compassionate human being with a passion for food, community, and impact.
