Senior Buyer

Leonard Workforce Solutions is recruiting a Senior Buyer for our client, HK Kolmar USA, LLC in Olyphant, PA.

This is a full-time, ON-SITE position. The typical schedule is Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm.

The Role:

The Senior Buyer plays a critical role in enhancing our supply chain efficiency and ensuring the timely procurement of materials and supplies essential for our manufacturing processes. You will work closely with vendors, internal departments, and the production team to align purchasing activities with company goals and standards, driving cost savings and optimizing supplier relationships.

Duties:

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company objectives.

  • Review and approve purchase orders for raw materials and supplies.

  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms with vendors to maximize value.

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, supplier performance, and order statuses.

  • Collaborate with production and quality control teams to forecast supply needs and address potential issues.

  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.

  • Monitor inventory levels, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with company policies.

  • Address discrepancies or issues related to shipments or orders promptly.

  • Lead initiatives to refine purchasing procedures and protocols for efficiency.

  • Mentor and guide junior purchasing staff as needed.

  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.

  • Be prepared to work overtime and on Saturdays as needed to meet production demands.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.

  • Knowledge of supply chain principles and procurement best practices.

  • Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform manual tasks as needed.
